Savage orc blood bowl team2/26/2024 ![]() Here’s another shot:Īs you can see, I added a Unit Filler to this unit of Savage Orcs. I’m pretty happy with how they turned out though, and I’m glad I took the time to do it because the unit really looks great out on the tabletop. I painstakingly spent the time to pick out all the little bone fragments, teeth, and wraps on all of the Savage Orc models and that’s what took the most time. ![]() I’ve seen models evolve over the course of many years and they now have some of the finest detail I’ve ever seen on their models and I think the latest Savage Orc models are a true testament to that. This shows their strong belief in the warpaint as they head to war!Īgain, after playing Warhammer for about 15 years now, I have to hand it to the sculptors at GW. I went ahead and added some blue warpaint to each of the models, whether it’s half of their faces painted, blue designs on their legs, arms, and chest or the tops of their heads are covered in blue paint. ![]() They are said to be very crazy, loners, and are exposed to all of the elements and adorn themselves with crazy war paint that is said to give them magical powers. I opted for a brighter green on these guys since they are supposed to be on their own living in their own feral society. And so after hours and hours of painting small detail after detail (man, these savage orcs are VERY detailed!), I offer to you the latest installment to The Green Tide: my Savage Orcs! Because of this, I have a 32 man group of Savage Orcs, a 38 man unit of Night Goblins, and a 35 man unit of Black Orcs… In other words, these are the units that I hate painting because it’s so monotonous and time consuming! I can sit here and complain about it all day long but at the end of the day, it has to be done. With the new addition of Steadfast and Horde Formation it makes it a whole lot more effective (and costly!) to field big units of troops in the 8th edition of Warhammer Fantasy. And in this latest edition it definitely lends itself to the phrase “the bigger, the better”… Long gone are the days of 16 to 20 man units and calling it good. One of my least favorite things about WHFB is the need to field big units of troops. As the Back to School Bash gets closer and closer I can feel the pressure rise each and every day that passes… I know it’s getting closer and I’m doing all that I can in order to get this army done by August 16th so that I can field a fully painted army. ![]()
